Welcome to Letters from the Margins!
I have been wanting to create a space like this for a while now. Something more intentional. A place to hold the thoughts that do not always fit into an Instagram caption or a quick conversation at the end of an event.
The Margins Club began in 2023 as quiet reading nights. No assigned books. No pressure. Just people choosing to share a space and read. I did not know what would come of it. I only knew I wanted a room where silence felt comfortable.
Over time, something steady began to take shape. Familiar faces returned. New ones joined. Conversations stretched a little longer. People lingered even after their books were closed. A real sense of community started to grow.
This newsletter is an extension of that. A continuation of our events, just in written form.
Each month, I hope to share a reflection, a line worth keeping, and notes from our community.
Over time, I hope this becomes something we build together. Not just a letter you receive, but a shared archive of what we are reading, questioning, and carrying with us. A collaborative project in the margins. Your underlined lines. Your reflections. Your words alongside mine.
Scribble with us in the margins
If you would like to be considered for a future issue, share something with us. It could be a line you underlined, a reflection, a confession, a reading ritual, a story from the margins, or any piece of writing up to 200 words.
(P.S. A story from the margins might be a small moment from one of our events. Maybe you met someone new. Maybe a conversation stayed with you.)
You can reply to this blog post, send a note to [email protected], or message us on Instagram at @themarginsclub.
Submissions will be thoughtfully curated each month, and selected pieces will be featured in the next letter.
Thank you for being part of this.
Wholeheartedly,
Nour
