Okay the weather didn’t get the memo, but we still show up anyway.
Life has been hectic for me in that way where the days blur and you look up and it's somehow already the third week of June and you're still on chapter fifteen of the book club pick. (That's me. I'm on chapter fifteen)
I haven't had as much time to read as I wanted to this month. I'll be honest about that. But here's the thing I keep coming back to: every time I show up to one of our events and see your faces, something in me just settles. For a while there, it was genuinely the thing I looked forward to most. The thing that made the week feel worth it.
So thank you for that.

Article Club, Meeting III
We're at Princess Cafe for the first time this Friday, June 19th, from 6 to 8pm. New venue, same energy. Look for us in the Annex, the room on the left when you first walk in. We'll be at the big tables together.

One gentle ask: Princess Cafe is hosting us, and that means something. Please order something when you get there. A coffee, a tea, whatever calls to you. It keeps places like this open for people like us.
Quiet Reading Night, June 30th
Midnight Run Cafe, 6 to 8pm. A room full of people who'd rather be reading. No agenda, no discussion, no performing sociability if you don't feel like it. Just you, your book, something cold to drink, and the particular kind of quiet that only happens when everyone in the room has chosen to be there.
Book Club: Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
I'm still reading it, which feels important to admit. But what I've read so far is exactly the kind of book that makes you want to talk about it before you're even done.
We're reading it through Fable (basically what Goodreads always should have been). You track what you're reading, rate it, share it, and the thing I love most: every chapter has its own chatroom where you can leave a comment and others can reply. Spoiler-free by design. You go at your own pace and the conversation is just there waiting for you whenever you show up.
We're hoping to meet in July (in person) once everyone's had a chance to finish. No pressure on timeline, as always.
One more thing: the reading picnic is in the making (pinky promise). The City of Waterloo is taking their sweet time, but it is happening. Something to look forward to. ALSO, there is a giveaway happening soon, so make sure to follow us on Instagram!
